The Feast of Pentecost (05-20-12)Speaker: Pastor Robin Porter
Pentecost foreshadows the truth that during the church age, a new phase in God's program has emerged: Jewish and Gentile believers are united in one Body through the Holy Spirit -- and God uses them to labor for the harvest of people.
Main Passages: Leviticus 23:15-22, Acts 2:1-4, 41

A Mother's Faith (05-13-12)A mother's faith can have tremendous impact in the life of the children that God has blessed her with. In this sermon Pastor Brad shows in Scripture how a mother's faith is to be communicated and also how her faith is rewarded by God.
Main Passages: 2 Timothy 1:15, 2 Timothy 3:14-15

Operation YoYo (05-06-12)The Apostle Paul was used by God to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world and encourage countless others to do the same. The struggles that the early Church experienced are the same struggles that we face today as we continue to be God's representatives in the world.
Main Passage: Acts 13:14-52

Good News for the Whole World (04-29-12)Up until this point in our survey of the Book of Acts the Church has been primarily in one location of the world. Acts 13 is where we see the Church begin to fulfill the great commission in going out to the rest of the world by sending the first missionaries, Paul and Barnabas.
Main Passage: Acts 13:1-15

The Day Death Died (04-08-12)The majority of us don't ever want to think or talk about the reality of death and all of it's implications. Truth be told we live in denial of the fact that at some point we will die. The beauty of the Gospel is that our biggest enemy, death, died the day that Jesus Christ rose up from the grave! We have a guarantee in Jesus Christ that if we trust what he did on the cross was for you and me then we have nothing to fear in death.
Main Passages: 1 Corinthians 15:21-22, 54-58; 2 Corinthians 5:6-8

Death and Deliverance (04-15-12)With Herod Agrippa 1 threatening the life of the Apostle Peter we find that Peter was sleeping in jail when an angel came to help him escape. Peter was so confident in what Jesus told him would happen he knew he wasn't going to die at this point in his life? Do you find rest in what God has revealed through His Word? The church was praying for Peter's release and couldn't believe it when he showed up at their door. Do you believe in the power of prayer? God's Word teaches us that "the prayer of a righteous man in powerful and effective." Do you believe it?
Main Passages: Acts 12:1-19, James 5:16

The First Gentile Church (03-25-12)Why did it take 10 years for the gospel to reach the Gentiles and begin to spread throughout the world? God was laying the foundation of apostalic authority as well as preparing the disciples to do what He was calling them to do. What does God need to change within us so that we can be vessels used to bring his message into the world?
Main Passage: Acts 11:1-30

A Vision That Changed The World (03-18-12)Speaker: Robin Porter, Director of Student and Worship Ministries
The Apostle Peter was a very key person in the early church. A lot of people took their cues from him. For the first 10 years of the church's existence it was a purely Jewish thing, but God wanted way more than to reach just one people group. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is for the world. God would not allow the church stay in one place and so he moved in the lives of Peter and Cornelius sparking a change that would spread throughout the world. The mission continues today. God has commissioned his people to take the gospel everywhere and to all people.
Main Passage: Acts 10:1-23

A New Beginning (03-04-12)When Saul of Tarsus met Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus his life was completely transformed. He had to deal with many new things in his life: new relationships, new teachers, new enemies. The reality is that Saul (Paul) knew that all of these new things had a purpose that was beyond anything he had pursued before.
Main Passage: Acts 9:19-31

A Transformed Life (02-26-12)God is amazing. He proves again and again that there is no one beyond his saving grace. Saul of Tarsus is the focus of this message as we continue our journey through the book of Acts. Saul was a very committed religious man that was doing everything in his power to kill the Christian church until Christ intervened and forever changed this man who would be God's chosen instrument to advance this new force in the world.
Main Passage: Acts 9:1-9; 26:4-18

Faith or Unfaith (02-19-12)Pastor Brad continues to lead us through the book of Acts. This message centers on the "faith" of two men that provide quite a contrast. One man sought to simply add God to his life without conviction or repentance. The other reveals that a heart that is truly repentant and available to God is filled and used in ways he could have never imagined. What kind of faith have you experienced?
Main Passage: Acts 8:9-40

Good News Travels Fast (02-12-12)Speaker: Robin Porter
God allowed persecution to come upon the early church to bring about the fulfillment of the words of Jesus that the believers would leave Jerusalem and go out into the world and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit empowered the early church to accomplish this monumental task. God still uses persecution to keep His people actively sharing and the same Holy Spirit is alive and available to us today.
Main Passage: Acts 8:1-17

An Extraordinary Witness (02-05-12)The message that Stephen delivered to the religious rulers was not received with an open heart willing to turn to God. Stephen spoke with conviction, motivated by love, exactly what needed to be said. Stephen may not have lived a very long life, but the life he did live he lived fully for the glory of God.
Main Passage: Acts 6-7

Kingdom Messengers (01-29-12)The members of the early Church set an amazing example for us to follow. In the face of supernatural miracles being performed they remained humble. When under trmendous pressure they remained courageous. When persecuted they expressed joy. How about you?
Main Passage: Acts 5:12-42

The Deadly Game (01-22-12)The way that the early church believers rallied together spoke volumes about the work that God was doing in the lives of his people. When we seek to put on a front so we can gain status of men instead of maintaining a life of integrity with God we are playing a very deadly game.
Main Passage: Acts 4:32 - 5:11

When the World Reacts (01-15-12)There may be times when you are telling the Good News of Jesus and the world responds by asking you to stop. The model we ought to follow is that of the first generation of believers who simply proclaimed that they couldn't stop. Once they recognized God's sovereignty over all things they prayed for boldness and for God to do miraculous things. God answered both prayers.
Main Passage: Acts 4:1-31

The Hands of Jesus (01-08-12)As the saying goes, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." The sermon that Peter gives in Acts 3 reveals the Messiah, Jesus Christ, came to forgive sin so that times of refreshing will come. Christ has called us to be the hands that reach out with compassion in power of the name of Jesus.
Main Passage: Acts 3:1-26; Romans 1:16

Kingdom Living Now: Impacting Our World (01-01-12)As a new year begins it's important for us to evaluate our lives, both individually and corporately as a church, and consider what needs to be done so that we can continue to make the most out of the lives we have been given to impact our world for Christ.
Main Passage: Acts 2:42-46
